Pasta in White Sauce
Pasta in White Sauce
Ingredients :
- Organic pasta - 1 cup
- Butter - 2 Tblsps
- Milk - 1 n 1/4 cups
- Heavy Cream - 1/2 cup
- Shredded Cheese - 1/2 cup
- Spinach - 3/4 cup
- Salt - per taste
- red chilli flakes - 1/4 tsp
- Black Pepper Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Garlic cloves - 4
- All purpose flour - 2 Tblsps
Procedure:
- Boil pasta in water. Add a tsp of oil and 1 tsp salt to the water while boiling pasta.
- Make sure pasta is cooked but not mushy. Drain and let it cool.
- In a pan, heat butter.
- Add grated garlic and saute.
- Add chopped spinach and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Add milk and stir continously.
- Take 1/4 cup milk in bowl and add all purpose flour to it and make a paste.
- Add this paste to the spinach , milk mixture in pan and keep stirring continously.
- Once the mixture starts boling and thickening, add heavy cream.
- Let it cook for a couple of mins. KLower the flame and add shredded cheese.
- Keep storring, so cheese melts. Add salt, pepper powder and chilli flakes.
- Add boiled , drained pasta and mix everything well.
- Let it cook for a couple of minutes on low flame.
- turn off the flame and serve hot !!
Modifications:
- Add desi tandoori masala for a different flavor.
- Instead of spinach, add sauted onion, tomato , garam masala paste .
- Sprinkle some Italian seasoning
- Add pureed guacamole instead of spinach/onion/tomato
